Pacaya is an active volcano complex in Guatemala, which first erupted approximately 23,000 years ago and after being dormant for a century, it erupted violently in 1965 and has been erupting continuously ever since. Pacaya has an elevation of 2,552 metres (8,373 ft), that is the main reason why you should climb this volcano so you wont miss the amazing view.

06:00 a.m.: Transfer from your hotel in Guatemala City or Antigua Guatemala to the starting point of the Pacaya Volcano Tour.
07:30 a.m.: Arrival to San Vicente Pacaya where the walk of ascent will begin.
09:00 a.m.: After a nice walk through volcanic sand paths with great views of the volcanoes and unique vegetation, you´ll arrive to the plateau where you can see the main crater of the volcano. We won´t visit the crater of the volcano for security reasons but you will see the lava (if active at the moment) and some steam baths created by the heat of the Pacaya Volcano.
10:00 a.m.: Descent walk begins.
11:00 a.m.: Start our return to Guatemala city or Antigua Guatemala.
